I am currently at the ICT Conference at St Johns college in Houghton. it is a very interesting forum for networking and sharing ideas on current ICT trends and different teaching methods using ICTs.

ICT in Education

Information and Communication Technology has permeated in every walk of life affecting the technology fields such as launching satellites, managing businesses across the globe and also enabling social networking. The convergence of computer, communication and content technologies, being known as ICT, have attracted attention of academia, business, government and communities to use it for innovative profitable propositions. Year by year it is becoming simpler to use devices such as desktop palm top, iPod etc.

The e-learning as a unit is currently engaged in the School Holiday Programme. This is a Provincial project intended to keep learners away from the streets during the World Cup 2010. This is informed by the increase in child trafficking incidences that are happening during Soccer World Cup Tournaments.

Today I have learned a lot about Star Schools Software. The software is user friendly and will help most educators and hopefully the Matric result will improve
